Is it even worth updating????

So I have been MIA for months now. Between chasing these 2 crazies around and getting back into the swing of things of teaching in a new district I haven't had time to do a thing (just ask aaron). But tonight we are fed and playing and I have time to reflect on what a CRAZY fall we have had.

This summer was spent moving... to a new townhouse... swimming a TON, and getting to go on 2 trips to the beach! The kids had a blast!

I am teaching again. 6th grade in State College Area School District. If I had to go back to work I feel very lucky that it was here. Dropping the kids off at "school" is never easy, but I have a wonderful team, building and friends that have made the transition great! I have 26 6th graders that keep me on my toes and laughing! I teach reading, math, and science. I am having fun and of course the 1st year teaching anywhere just trying to learn all the ins and outs of the district!!

Molly is growing like crazy!! She LOVES school! She loves books, crafts and anything dealing with being as girly as possible!!! Cracks me up. She is VERY opinionated on what she wears (dresses and frills are a must) yet as we speak she is playing a game a of catch with Aaron! She turned 4 at the end of October and we celebrated with a Pinkalicious Party!! Pink everywhere and everything!!! The Workman's, Hortons, Siegeles, and Corys were all able to come up to help celebrate!

Macon is all boy!! The dirtier the better! Today he is 21 months and we have any word that ends with the -ck sound "duck" was our first word followed shortly by "sock, milk, stuck" and recently please. We discovered this summer that Macon is tongue tided.  Pretty severely to the point that we will have to go under the knife this summer to do some clipping sewing. I thought that his slow language development could be blamed on that, but the doctors tell us other wise. He is just slow and steady...like he has been his whole life....2 weeks late!!! CRAZY boy!! Other than that he continues to be a funny boy, and he knows it! He loves to Skype with grandma siegele and give kisses. He is my cuddle bug!

Here are some quick pictures of what we have been up to recently to catch up on the last 5 months!!

BOWS, BOWS, BOWS! and HOLDERS :)

So as I am not working I am busy finding other things to make me feel "valuable" One such endever has been making bows and bow holders for Molly first. Since she on no certain terms lets me know what colors she needs. Did I create this monster? And since so many of my great friends have had girl babies recently it just seems the natrual gift to give! I've thought about selling them.... but don' t know if it would be something people would be interested in. I have yet to make one for Molly but she was my inspration as her bows are taking over!! and are EVERYWHERE!

Quick Catch Up

Well as it is the beginning of June and my last post was about the end of March we have been busy. Or should I say I have been busy chasing kids and not finding anytime to sit and write. But luckily for me both kids are down napping, dinner is ready, and I don't have a million other things that I should be doing! haha.. at least that I can remember right now!

April was a pretty quite month for us. I went to Vegas the first week for a good friends baby shower and to catch up with some great friends! While Aaron had some great time with the kids!!! It was a much needed break for me as Aaron spend much of the previous 2 months out of town. Bike riding around State College during a few nice weekends, and just enjoying daddy were our highlights!

We spent Easter in Pittsburgh at my parents house with the rest of the Siegele clan. It was a great time and the kids had a lot of fun dying eggs, or Molly really, and looking for them the next morning!

Easter Fam!
Look at what the Easter Bunny brought!!

May was busy again... or so it feels like that when Aaron is gone.  This time it was for 2 weeks as he did some recruiting and coaching in the East. It finished up with Molly's end of the year program at school, a new tooth for Macon now up to 5, and the "tunnel pool" finally opening! Molly was a little apprehensive on Saturday but by the middle of this week was back to her swimming ways! Off the diving board but not as thrilled about it as she was last year! We'll see how the summer goes!

Can't believe that Molly is done with one year of preschool.  This year was the mixed age, because she was an expereinced and older 2.5 and next year the 3s!! She is getting so big and just a sharp little girl! Keeps me on my toes that's for sure!

DC Weekend March 17-20

So it seems lately that we are really on the go and what I really mean by that is Macon is on the go..... so are Molly and Mommy, chasing him everywhere! Macon started walking March 18th just shy of 13mos. We were in DC visiting Kenzie for her big 1st birthday and I set him down on the floor to stand and then Uncle Brett counted four steps... just like that. He is really on the move now!!! He is really enjoying his new found freedom!

Walking to Gram!

Walking to the Smithsonian

While Aaron was in Austin, TX for women's NCAA's the kids and I headed down to DC for a long weeked full of wonderful weather and excellent basketball! Aunt Jessie, Uncle Brett the kids and I all spent Friday walking DC to the "zoo" as Molly calls it but really the Natural History Smithsonian. For some reason Molly hasn't quite figured out why the animals don't move at this particular zoo. But she loves it none the less!! We then headed back to Arlington to watch some great basketball!

Kenzie's 1st birthday party was a blast. She was a great hostess and we all really enjoyed celebrating with her! I had SO much fun designing and creating the invites, and decorations for the party! May have found a new calling in life. This stay at home mom thing is making me a crafter!!!

Macon even had his first hair cut this weekend!! He did great. Sat him down with a plate full of cheerios and that was all he needed! was as happy as a clam... I don't think he even realized what we were doing!

The next week was spent at home while daddy was at men's NCAA's in Minn. It was an uneventful week until Friday afternoon when Macon decided to dive off one of Molly's kitchen chairs and knock his left top tooth out of his socket. He cried for a couple minutes and once I got the blood out of the way I noticed that his tooth was sticking strait up into the sky! I called the dentist and an hour and some novicane later we were put back together. He was such a trooper and you really can't tell that it even happened except for that his tooth is pushed just slightly forward due to his avid thumb sucking!! But he did a great job!!! Boys!!!!
Immediately after getting home (hense the reward sticker) can't you tell he just knocked out a tooth!!

Molly the Snow Bunny!!

So as were were driving back from a great, quick, visit in Columbus, OH on Sunday night we hit Ebensburgh, about 1/2 way back from Pittsburgh on our drive, and it started to snow. By the time we pulled into State College there was a good 6 inches of fresh snow on the ground! And in the morning we had at least 8! Happy March to us!!! Molly and Aaron had fun building snow people in the back yard!
So we have wanted to get Molly to hit the slopes at Tussey Mountain all winter but due to Aaron's crazy schedule we just haven't gotten there. Until this week. Since it is PSU spring break Aaron's schedule was a little more lax and we had the opportunity to take her. She was very excited as we talked about it. And when we pulled in she told us that she was ready to go home. But once she saw the skiers in action she couldn't wait. She went to ski school and had a blast. She told us all about her pizza wedgie and riding on the ski lift! When we were all done she LOVED it and can't wait to go again! Although I hope that next year is the next chance we get to play in the snow!

Macon's 1st Birthday Sock Monkey Party!!!

We celebrated Macon's birthday just a bit early this year as he will aways have to compete with Daddy's work schedule. This year Daddy would not be home for his birthday because he would be in Bloomington at girls Big Tens. Lucky for us Macon was more than happy to celebrate early!!! We were lucky enought to have very special family, and friends come celebrate it with us!!!Gramma & GP were able to come in from Pittsburgh.  And Nut, Uncle Brett, and McKenzie were able to come up from DC to help celebrate! Ms Liz, and the Hargis', Mr. Thad, Ms Ashley also helped to make the party special!

We had a Sock Monkey Birthday Party!!! Macon thought it was just a perfect theme for his big 1!!!  It was a red, brown, and blue themed party! Macon had fun, but not as much fun as Molly did playing with John!!

The sock monkeysmash cake!! Tissue poms in the back ground

Macon's month by month photo calendar!

The table and home made banner!

The cake and cupcakes!!

I made Macon a smash cake and as soon as he got his hands into it and figured out that he couldn't get the icing off his hands he was DONE!!! He was screaming and crying and had had enough! Sorry sweet boy!! But overall the party was a sucess and I just can't believe that Macon is 1! It truely feels like yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital! He continues to be a sweet boy. He is on the verge of walking. He does a lot of climbing the stairs, standing and chasing after Molly! We really think that any day now we will have a walking boy!

All the goodies ready to eat!!
My first attempt at tissue poms!

Partying with McKenzie

The decorations I made myself. When you become a stay at home mom you find silly crafty things to keep you and the kids busy!! Especially during the VERY long and cold winter! The tissue poms were something that I had seen on line that I wanted to try because I am going to make larger ones for Molly's room and everywhere I read that your first try would not be your best. So Macon's party was my trial run! I made the invatations to match too! Can't keep the teacher out of me! I had so much fun doing it that I am going to do McKenzie's party next week. I'll have to post pictures of all my craftiness later!!

Getting ready for the cake!! Macon LOVED getting sung to and even started dancing to the music!!

Catching up!

So we have been on the go around here. February was full of planning Macon's birthday party, reupholstering our sectional, and of course being glued to the computer watching Men's and Women's Big Tens.

Mom staid the week after Macon's Party and helped me reupholster our sectional. It is a long story but the bottom line is that it was REALLY poorly made and needed a facelift!! Thankfully my mom is SUPER talented and I worked her to the bone all week but by 10am on Saturday (6days later) we had pulled it off and we had a "new" couch!!

Happy Holidays?????

So it's been FOREVER since I posted last. And I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday. We sure did. Most of it was a blur and thank goodness that for the most part we have wonderful little travelers because we sure did rack up the miles this holiday season!!!

Molly & her letter

mailing her letter to santa

At the beginning of December Molly, Macon and I headed out to the mall to mail our letter to Santa. Molly had spent some time writing him and thinking of exactly what she wanted. A pillow pet, unicorn (because it is pink and purple of course), toy story 3 and Punzel (Rapunzel doll). Aaron was out of town at a meet in Georgia so it was a fun outing for us! :)

Molly also had her first school performance with her preschool! She did a great job!Lots of singing and even the treat of seeing Santa. The theme this year was Christmas around the world and Molly was part of the the African representative:)

We stared out the holiday season by heading to Pittsburgh so that Aaron and I could work the Pitt Christmas meet. I was coaching a few of our Nittany Lion Aquatics kids and Aaron was recruiting/coaching. It was so nice for him to be coaching this year as in past years he has been the meet director and SUPER stressed!!! Mom and Dad were great enough to watch the kids during the morning sessions that I worked. On Saturday we met at PPG place and did our annual look at the Santas and walk to Macy's to see Santa and look at the windows. Molly LOVED all the international PPG Santas this year and still enjoyed the gingerbread houses. We even got to watch a group perform and Rudolph was there!! He was a hit with Molly.

Now last year's Santa visit didn't go so smoothly as we didn't even make it onto the big man's lap. But ever since Macon was born we had been talking it up about how she was gonna sit on his lap with Macon. And this year we made it!!! Molly had been rehearsing what she was gonna tell him and then when she got up there stage fright set it... she had no idea what to say. Macon did great until he looked up to see who was holding him and then was completely freaked out!!! hahah But we made it with both kids on Santa's lap!!! Molly's favorite was reading "yes, Virginia" on the store windows outside Macys.

On Monday of that week we headed down to Virginia to visit with Aaron's parents and sister's family. Molly LOVES being with her cousins and thinks that they are just the best thing ever!!!! We had our Workman family Christmas and dinner. Molly played her first real, not Wii, game of bowling and got a strike on her first ball!! Way to go Mols! We also had a special girls night and we all went to go see Tangled in 3D. It was super cute and Molly really liked it.
Her most recent quote Me- "Molly come here so that I can brush your hair." Molly- "Yeah, Mommy we need to get all those Punzels out" (evidently tangles and punzels can be used interchangeably!!!" too funny!)

loving her gift from the Hortons!!

Macon just LOVED all the paper :)

We headed back to Pittsburgh on the 23rd. My mom and sisters had pitched in to get Aaron, Brett and Dad tickets to the Steeler game that night for Christmas!  All bundled up in their new Steelers gear they headed out. They had a great time although it was bitterly cold and they headed home by half.  Christmas was full of all the normal Siegele traditions, fondue, Christmas Eve service, reading the night before Christmas, decorating sugar cookies, and lots of game playing. It was so great having EVERYONE home for Christmas we even got to spend some time with Rich!

Such a good day Santa brought Punzel!!!

Macon enjoying Christmas!

Aaron headed back to State College the day after Christmas as the PSU team was heading down to Naples, FL for their training trip. We stayed behind and spent a little time at the Pittsburgh zoo and aquarium and drove down to Heinz field to see if we could skate at the rink they set up for the winter classic. But with 200+ people waiting in line we decided against it and instead got Molly a wonderful penguin ice sculpture picture.

We missed Aaron but we headed up to Michigan with Gramma, GP, Jessie and Rich for my cousin Kai's beautiful New Year's Eve wedding! It was so great to catch up with the extended Siegele family and introduce Macon to them and celebrate Kai's big day!!
